Alex Phakathi MCom(Wits)

Chief Executive Officer, Mr Phakathi, has more than 15 years of commercial property experience. He was on the executive committee of Redefine responsible for acquisitions and disposals. Previously, he was the managing director of Pareto Ltd, an unlisted property loan stock company with a portfolio of shopping centres and hotels. Before joining Redefine, Alex was the head of property strategy and planning for Barclays Africa (Absa CRES). Alex is a past-president of SAPOA and serves on the board of the property charter. He has a Master of Commerce degree from Wits.

John Rainier BCom LLB

Former Managing Director of Fountainhead Property Trust Management Limited. Involved in property sector since 1980.

Former partner at Ernst & Young and non-executive director of other companies.

Managing Director of Northprop (Pty) Ltd. Involved in the property sector since 1960.

Andrew Konig CA(SA)

Mr Andrew Konig has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Konig is a qualified chartered accountant with 19 years of commercial and financial experience and was previously group financial director of Independent News and Media. He is furthermore the financial director of Redefine Properties Limited and serves on the executive and investment committee.

Bernard Nackan BA Econ Sep (Stanford)

Mr Bernard Nackan has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Mr Nackan was financial editor of the Rand Daily Mail and an executive director of Sage Group from 1974 until his retirement in 2003. He is a member of the Collective Investment Schemes Advisory Committee and is also a non-executive director of Redefine International Limited and Rezko Asset Management.
